Hard disks keep getting bigger and bigger, but somehow we still run out of space. MP3s and other media files are immensely popular–and simply immense. Programs are bigger, and data files are bigger. Windows Explorer isn`t much help.
Features: Hard disks are getting bigger. But we always seem to run out of available space very quickly. Music files, video files that we love hearing and looking at, consume a lot of space. Over time they tend to become full of duplicates, full files that can be purged and so on. Programs keep getting better, they use bigger data files and disk usage seems to explode all the time. Disk chart is able to tell you how exactly your space is being utilized and identify the bigger consumers easily. Pie charts will tell you right away which folders and file types are consuming the space the most.
The charts created are customizable. You can get them printed for easy reference too. There is a Windows explorer view also available that can let you drill down to the folder sub-folder you want to create a chart for. The chart will indicate the exact number of bytes being consumed too. Disk Chart then can then display and print a report on the largest consumer in the selected folder. Once you are able to locate these fat customers you can decide how to rearrange things and get some of the unutilized space back into circulation.
Overall: a very handy utility.
